P.A.S.S. - Patients Advocating for Safer Supply

Patients Advocating for Safer Supply (P.A.S.S.), an Ontario patient-led group made up exclusively of people with patient experience in safer supply programs.

P.A.S.S. formed in October 20026 after the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario voted to amend safer supply prescribing to require observed doses for all short-acting opioids prescribed for safer supply, as well as mandatory monthly in-person examinations, and co-prescription of OAT (e.g., methadone).

The group provides a space to connect, support one another through changes to safer supply prescribing, and organize together for patient rights and a meaningful voice in decisions about our care. The attachments include a meeting flyer and a two-part resource outlining prescribing changes and ways patients can share their experiences and advocate.

Meetings take place on Tuesday evenings, with in-person and virtual attendance options. Anyone interested in joining can email pass.safesupply [at] proton.me (pass[dot]safesupply[at]proton[dot]me) for membership and meeting details. A Zoom link can be shared once they have officially joined P.A.S.S.
